Flea Markets in Michigan

Michigan has an excellent mix of big flea markets, antique malls, and seasonal vintage events. The state’s mix of cities, small towns, and lake country makes it a rewarding place for road-trip treasure hunting.

Metro Detroit

The Detroit area has several large weekend markets. Tireman Flea Market in Detroit, County Line Trade Center in Warren, Greenlawn Grove Flea Market in Romulus, and Dixieland Flea Market in Waterford all offer a wide mix of new and used goods. The Detroit Flea is a seasonal market focused on vintage, handmade, and local goods, and it is held on select dates, so check its schedule before you go.

Grand Rapids and West Michigan

West Michigan is a hub for large antique malls. Wally’s Treasures in Grand Rapids and Wally’s Castle in Wyoming, Pinky’s Place Antique and Artisan Market in Comstock Park, and The Elevated Market and Glasshouse in Grand Rapids are big, multi-dealer destinations that can easily fill an afternoon.

Lansing and Mid-Michigan

In the Lansing area, The Mega Mall and Little Red Schoolhouse are packed with vendors selling antiques, vintage items, and collectibles, and they keep regular daily hours.

When to Go

Outdoor markets are most active from spring through fall, and summer weekends are the busiest. Michigan winters can be cold and snowy, which makes the antique malls an excellent choice from late fall through early spring. Many malls are open daily, while outdoor flea markets often run on weekends.

Bring cash, measure your vehicle before buying large pieces, and give yourself time, since the biggest antique malls can take hours to explore properly. Fall is a particularly pleasant time to travel between markets, with cooler weather and colorful scenery.
